Teams mobilized after abandoned skis were found on the Rimpfischhorn Mountain near Zermatt in Switzerland's Valais Canton. As a result of the searches conducted in the area, the bodies of five skiers were discovered.

Authorities stated that search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area following a report regarding abandoned skis at an altitude of 4,000 meters. The prosecutor's office reported that the bodies were found near the Adler Glacier after aerial and ground searches conducted by the rescue teams in the area close to the Italian border.
BODIES FOUND ON AVALANCHE DEBRIS
Swiss media reported that three of the bodies were found on top of avalanche debris a few hundred meters below the abandoned skis, while the other two were located at an altitude of 4,199 meters.
