Slavia Prague head coach Jindrich Trpisovsky said that although they started badly against Fenerbahçe, they were very happy to finish the match in a 2-2 draw and that his players produced a great performance. Speaking about the atmosphere, the experienced coach said, "The ambiance in the stadium was incredible. In the first 20 minutes, we couldn't hear each other."
In the third week of the UEFA Champions League, Fenerbahçe drew 2-2 with Slavia Prague at home after conceding a goal in the final minutes. Slavia Prague head coach Jindrich Trpisovsky made statements at the press conference held after the match.
''WE WERE VERY HAPPY''
Trpisovsky said, "We were very happy. When I spoke with the players, I told them we played a great match. In the previous match, we had been unsuccessful against Sabah. We have young players. We conceded 2 goals in the first 11 minutes. We did not want such a start. But when we spoke during the match, we said we needed to fight until the last minute. After conceding 2 goals, we needed to continue the fight. The shots aimed at our goal were dangerous. At the beginning of the match, I felt bad in that sense," he said.
''WE COULD NOT HEAR EACH OTHER IN THE FIRST 20 MINUTES''
Speaking about the atmosphere in the stadium, the experienced coach said, "At the beginning it was chaotic, but afterwards the stands became quieter. The ambiance in this stadium is incredible. In the first 20 minutes, we could not hear each other. When we wanted to communicate with the players, we could not hear each other. But we had made the necessary warnings before the match," he said.
''CONTINUOUS ON-PITCH EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED''
Noting that Fenerbahçe has great players such as Lukaku and Muriqi, Trpisovsky said that in certain parts of the game they fell back in defense and recovered over time. Underlining that they are a young team, Trpisovsky said, "There are very young players at Slavia Prague. We have players who played in the third league last year and are playing in the Champions League this year. Of course, points are needed. Young players need continuous on-pitch experience. If we had performed a little better, we could have been luckier," he said.
