Monsoon rains have turned into a disaster in Bangladesh. At least 44 people have died in floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains affecting seven regions, including Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachhari, Moulvibazar, and Habiganj.

It has been reported that 16 of the deaths occurred due to landslides in refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, where Rohingya Muslims have taken shelter.

OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE STRANDED

While the Pakistan army and navy are delivering food, drinking water, medicine, and other essential supplies by boat to areas where transportation has been cut off due to floods, it has been reported that the number of stranded people exceeds 1 million.

During his visit to the affected areas in Chittagong, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Iqbal Hossain stated, "The government is doing everything possible to support flood victims. Relief supplies, safe drinking water, and medical materials are being distributed. We urge people whose homes are flooded to go to the nearest shelter."
