While heavy rainfall in Manisa's Salihli district turned streets and avenues into lakes, Hanife Mazı, who was trapped in a house flooded by the floodwaters, narrowly escaped death. Mazı, stating that the water inside the house rose to neck level, was able to be rescued with the help of her neighbors.
After the heavy rain that was effective in the evening hours on Saturday in the Salihli district of Manisa, streets and roads turned into lakes, and some agricultural lands were flooded. In Özyurt Neighborhood, one of the most affected points by the rain, floodwaters passed through a house.
WATER LEVEL REACHED UP TO THE NECK
Hanife Mazı, who was at home at the time, described the fearful moments she experienced. Stating that the floodwaters suddenly filled the house from the back garden, Mazı said she could not go outside due to the rapidly rising water.
Mazı, expressing that the water level reached up to her neck while trying to open the door, said, "The floodwaters from the back garden of our house suddenly started to enter. The water rose so quickly that I didn't have a chance to open the front door. While trying to open the door, the water came up to my neck. I threw myself back into the back garden, and from there I climbed onto the terrace. Later, with the help of my neighbors, I was rescued from where I was."
Stating that the belongings in the house became unusable due to the flood, Mazı said that the hardship she experienced was great.

On the other hand, Salihli Municipality teams started cleaning and damage assessment work in the house damaged by the flood. Salihli Municipality Deputy Mayor Selim Akbıyıkoğlu stated that the teams are carrying out the necessary work in the region and expressed that all kinds of support will be provided to the affected family.
