Following the MGK meeting chaired by President Erdoğan, an 11-article written statement was released. The statement noted that the meeting addressed the agreement reached between Syria and the US, the Terror-Free Turkey process, and global and regional developments, with a special emphasis on the TRNC. It said, "It has been recorded that Türkiye, in its capacity as a guarantor state, will not allow any fait accompli that would harm the rights and interests of the TRNC and undermine the peace environment in the Eastern Mediterranean."

The National Security Council (NSC) was held under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. The meeting lasted 2 hours. Following the meeting, an 11-article written statement was released.

The statement included the following expressions: "The National Security Council convened on June 18, 2026, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

CLEAR MESSAGE ON A TERROR-FREE TÜRKIYE

At the meeting;

1. Information was presented to the Council regarding the activities carried out with determination, decisiveness, and success both domestically and abroad against all kinds of threats and dangers to our national unity, solidarity, and survival, particularly the terrorist organizations PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and DEAŞ, as well as recent international developments.

2. Studies conducted to achieve the critically important goals of a Terror-Free Türkiye and a Terror-Free Region for the future of our country and region were evaluated; the strong will to relieve our nation and our neighbors from the heavy burden of terrorism was confirmed.

"FIGHT AGAINST ORGANIZED CRIME ADDRESSED"

3. Operations carried out within the scope of the fight against organized crime were discussed; it was emphasized that steps taken with the aim of absolutely preserving the peace and security of all our citizens, especially our children and youth, will be continued resolutely.

"WE WILL NOT ALLOW A FAIT ACCOMPLI IN THE TRNC AND EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN"

4. Emphasizing that Türkiye, as a guarantor country, is capable and determined to take every measure within the framework of international law for the security, peace, and welfare of the Turkish Cypriots; it was noted that no fait accompli that would harm the rights and interests of the TRNC and damage the peace environment in the Eastern Mediterranean will be permitted.

IRAN-USA AGREEMENT

5. Satisfaction was expressed regarding the agreement reached between Iran and the USA, and attention was drawn to the importance of not disrupting the process; it was stated that Türkiye will continue to effectively contribute to efforts for establishing lasting peace and stability in the region.

6. It was expressed that the progress made in establishing peace, stability, and tranquility in Syria was welcomed; it was emphasized that our support for efforts aimed at strengthening the unity and integrity of Syria and its development will continue.

CALL TO THE WORLD ON "ISRAEL"

7. It was stated that the aggressive actions of the Israeli Administration, which continues ceasefire violations in Gaza, settler terrorism in the West Bank, attacks on the status of East Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and encroaches upon Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, negatively impact efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.

The international community has been called upon to adopt a principled stance against the persistent attitude of the Israeli Administration that disregards universal human values and international law.

8. Our strong will to continue the strategic cooperation established with Iraq in all fields with the new Iraqi Government as well was confirmed; our support for maintaining the stability and security environment in Iraq was emphasized.

RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR

9. The latest situation in the Russia-Ukraine War was discussed; an appeal was made to the parties responsible for the escalation of conflicts and their spread to neighboring regions, especially the Black Sea, to take steps as soon as possible for a just and lasting peace.

10. The course of developments across the African continent was evaluated; it was noted that Türkiye will continue its support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of friendly and brotherly African countries and for ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity on the continent.

11. Current developments regarding the strengthening of peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus were discussed. It is respectfully submitted to the public."
