Following the passage of the legal regulation regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the first step has been taken. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi will convene with the governors, police chiefs, and gendarmerie commanders of all 81 provinces tomorrow to clarify the roadmap of the process. Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş will also attend this high-level meeting.
Following the approval of the framework law, which forms the legal foundation of the Terror-Free Türkiye process, in the General Assembly of Parliament, field implementations of the process are effectively beginning. At the call of Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, a high-level summit will be held tomorrow at 15:00 in the GAMER Meeting Hall, with the participation of governors, police chiefs, and gendarmerie commanders from all 81 provinces.
LEGISLATIVE AND EXECUTIVE BRANCHES TO MEET ON A SINGLE SCREEN
The Ministry of Interior, which swiftly acted immediately after the law passed through Parliament, is bringing together all administrative authorities and senior security officials via video conferencing (VKS) to clarify the implementation roadmap. This comprehensive meeting, which Speaker of Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş will also attend, will bring the will of Parliament, representing the legislative branch, and the provincial administration on the ground, representing the executive branch, together on a single screen, showcasing the importance attached to the process. Before the critical summit, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi gave a message of determination, stating, "Everyone will do their part to ensure the process does not stall."
"ZERO TOLERANCE" FOR PROVOCATIONS AND DISINFORMATION
One of the most crucial agenda items of the meeting at GAMER will be the potential issues officials in the field might face and the precautions to be taken against them. Provincial administrators and law enforcement will be asked to be extremely careful and vigilant against potential provocations, organized disinformation campaigns, and any actors who might seek to sabotage the process.
Governors will serve as the highest-level coordinators and civilian leaders of the process in their provinces, ensuring inter-institutional integration and the accurate information of the public. In city centers, police personnel, and in rural areas, the gendarmerie organization will operate with the principle of "zero tolerance" in maintaining public order and security. While security forces prevent all sorts of provocations, they will also further strengthen the bond of trust between citizens and the state.
PROCESS LAW PASSED PARLIAMENT WITH GREAT SUPPORT
The legal basis for this summit, which will clarify the field implementation guide of the "Terror-Free Türkiye" vision, was laid yesterday in the General Assembly of Parliament. A historic vote was held in Parliament for the framework law proposal that establishes the legal foundation of the process. Out of the 592 members of parliament, 562 participated in the vote, and the proposal was enacted with strong support, receiving 467 "yes" votes. With the summit starting tomorrow at 15:00, this legal process, which exists on paper, will move to the field, entering a new phase.
