The meteorology department announced that heavy rainfall will be effective across the country, warning citizens about the risks of floods, waterlogging, lightning, and mudslides. While winds in the Aegean coast are expected to reach up to 80 kilometers per hour, it was noted that the dust transport affecting Greece's Crete Island could also be observed in many provinces of Turkey.

A strong rainfall and storm expected to be effective across Turkey has led to a "yellow" coded warning for 31 provinces. The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) reported that, according to the latest forecasts, the weather will be mostly cloudy and intermittently rainy across Turkey.

While most of the precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain and showers, mixed rain and occasional snow will be seen in the high areas of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.

STRONG RAINFALL EXPECTED IN SOME REGIONS

MGM warned that rainfall will be locally strong in certain regions.

The regions where strong rainfall is expected are listed as follows: throughout the Mediterranean, in the Western Black Sea (except Sinop), around Sakarya, Ankara, Kırıkkale, and Çankırı, as well as in Adıyaman, Antep, and Kilis, and the western districts of Urfa.

From the night hours, it is predicted that the rainfall will increase in the coasts of İzmir and Aydın, as well as around Muğla.

Authorities have urged citizens to be cautious against floods, water inundation, and disruptions in transportation.

"YELLOW" CODED WARNING FOR 31 PROVINCES

The meteorology department issued a "yellow" coded warning for 31 provinces due to the expectation of strong rainfall and storms.

Among the provinces where strong rainfall is expected are cities such as Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Antep, Hatay, and Urfa, while provinces under storm warning include İzmir, Konya, Kayseri, Sivas, and Trabzon.

STORM IN COASTAL AEGEAN, DUST TRANSPORT IN THE WEST

It is predicted that the wind will blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north in Marmara, and from the south in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and the Central Black Sea. In the Coastal Aegean, it has been reported that the wind may reach storm levels (60-80 km/h) in some areas.

On the other hand, dust transport is expected along the western coasts of the Western Mediterranean and the Aegean coasts, which may lead to reduced visibility and decreased air quality.

AVALANCHE AND SNOW MELTING RISK

The meteorology department announced that there is a continued avalanche risk in the high snow-covered sloped areas in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and in the east. Additionally, warnings were issued against risks related to snow melting in the region. While air temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in cities with a high Kurdish population, no significant changes are anticipated in other regions.
