The incident occurred on Nar Road in the 2000 Evler Neighborhood of Nevşehir. According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between Ahmet Efe D., the driver of the car with license plate 38 AIF 551, and Suat T., the driver of the car with license plate 06 CTB 057, due to overtaking in traffic. As the argument escalated, the drivers stopped their vehicles by the roadside and got out of their cars. Ali D., Samet D., and other individuals in the other vehicle, Necati S. and Onur K., also joined the rapidly growing argument.
THEY ATTACKED EACH OTHER WITH KNIVES AND STICKS
The parties took the knives and sticks from their vehicles and attacked each other. Upon the notification of nearby citizens, police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams intervening in the fight detained the drivers and other individuals involved in the incident. After a health check, the suspects were taken to the Nevşehir Provincial Police Department. After their procedures at the police station, the two drivers were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the court and sent to prison. The drivers' licenses were confiscated for 6 months, and the vehicles were banned from traffic for 60 days.
A TOTAL FINE OF 720,000 TL WAS IMPOSED
It was learned that a total administrative fine of 720,000 TL would be imposed on the driver and 2 passengers involved in the incident recorded with a mobile phone, with each person facing a fine of 180,000 TL. Authorities stated that under the recently enacted regulations that foresee severe penalties for aggressive behavior in traffic; actions such as fighting in traffic, threats, and attacking after getting out of the vehicle would result in high fines, as well as license confiscation and vehicle ban penalties.
