The interest of foreign investors in purchasing shares on Borsa Istanbul has continued to increase over the past two weeks. In the week of April 25, foreign investors made a net purchase of $92.4 million in shares, thus positioning themselves on the buying side for two consecutive weeks.

Recently increasing participation of foreign investors has become increasingly noticeable in Borsa Istanbul. Residents abroad made a net purchase of 92.4 million dollars in shares in the week of April 25, adjusted for market prices and exchange rate movements. According to the data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), net purchases of government bonds (GDB) in the same week amounted to 476.7 million dollars.

STOCKS OF SHARES REACHED 28.57 BILLION DOLLARS

Net purchases of government bonds (Reverse Repo) by residents abroad were 207.8 million dollars, while net sales of government bonds (Collateral) were 454.6 million dollars. No transactions occurred for government bonds (Lending), while net sales of corporate bonds amounted to 194.6 million dollars. The market value of the stock holdings of residents abroad in shares was 28 billion 570.6 million dollars. The stocks of government bonds (GDB) reached 10 billion 332.7 million dollars, the stocks of government bonds (Reverse Repo) were 1 billion 738.5 million dollars, and the stocks of government bonds (Collateral) were 3 billion 692.2 million dollars. Exports from sectors outside general administration were reported at 370.7 million dollars.
