In Mugla, it was revealed that one of the two suspects detained in connection with the theft of interlocking paving stones from a road construction site is a former district police chief dismissed from duty under the FETÖ investigation.
In the investigation launched after interlocking paving stones left at a construction site for road works in Muğla were stolen, it was claimed that one of the two suspects detained, U.Ç., was a former district police chief dismissed from the profession as part of the FETÖ investigation.
TWO PALLETS VANISHED
The incident occurred in Yeniköy District. The construction site manager of the contractor company carrying out infrastructure and road works in the area noticed that two pallets of interlocking paving stones left for road laying were missing during a site inspection. Upon realizing the situation, the authorized person promptly notified police teams.
TWO SUSPECTS DETAINED
Upon the notification, Muğla Provincial Police Department teams launched an extensive investigation in the area where the theft took place. Examining nearby security cameras in detail and conducting technical surveillance, the teams quickly identified the two suspects believed to have stolen the stones. Both suspects were detained in an operation.
IDENTIFIED AS FORMER POLICE CHIEF
A striking fact emerged during the identity verification process of the suspects at the police station. It was learned that one of the apprehended suspects was U.Ç., a former district police chief dismissed from the profession as part of the FETÖ investigations. As the judicial process regarding the stolen materials deepened, former police chief U.Ç. and the other suspect, whose questioning and statement procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
The investigation into the incident continues.
