In Ankara, 6 suspects who met people they met online, promising to become 'lovers,' and then robbed their money and valuables through coercion, threats, blackmail, and assault, were detained in a simultaneous operation.
Six suspects who met victims they encountered online in the capital under the pretext of "becoming lovers" and robbed them have been detained.
THEY WENT THINKING THEY WOULD BECOME LOVERS
According to a statement from the Ankara Provincial Police Department, an operation was carried out to apprehend suspects who committed crimes of coercion, threat, blackmail, and assault against victims they met under the pretext of "becoming lovers" in the city.
Teams from the Robbery Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate determined that the suspects, after messaging victims they met online for a while, arranged meetings at homes or hotels under the pretext of "becoming lovers."
THEY WERE BOTH BEATEN AND ROBBED
It was established that the suspects, who went to the agreed address with other men, seized the victims' phones, threatened and beat them, and robbed them of their valuables and money.
In the simultaneous operation carried out, six suspects were detained.
