Arguing that the allegation stemmed from a similarity in names, Güler called on Özlale to apologize. Güler also recalled a previous statement made by Özlale's wife and made striking remarks.
AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler reacted to Ümit Özlale, İzmir MP of the YENİ Party, in his statement regarding AK Party's 9-article bill on fund liquidation. Güler reacted to Özlale, arguing that the allegations made about two ministers did not reflect the truth.

AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler used harsh words in his statement regarding the allegations Ümit Özlale raised in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Criticizing Özlale's remarks about Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Güler said, "Mr. Ümit, you are a liar and a slanderer. No one believes you. You are a fabricated construct. Please apologize and retreat to your corner."
NAME-SIMILARITY RESPONSE TO 830 MILLION LIRA FUND CLAIM
At the center of the debate was the allegation of an 830 million lira fund transaction made about Hasan Özdemir, the father of Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. Güler claimed that Özlale conflated two different Hasan Özdemirs. Noting that there are approximately 4,000 people in Turkey with the same name, Güler asked Özlale how he had accessed investors' identity and fund information. With the words, "How did you access the record showing this investor's identity information and how much money remained in which fund? Who gave you this information?" he demanded that the source of the allegations be disclosed.
REMINDED OF ÖZLALE'S WIFE'S WORDS
Güler also recalled the reaction Ümit Özlale had shown when he was previously linked to a fund claim due to name similarity. Referring to the statement made at the time by Özlale's wife, journalist Ms. Serap, Güler quoted her words: "Those who throw this lie and slander at my husband are dishonorable, dishonorable." Then he said, "Look, I am not saying anything to him. I am responding with his wife's words. I hope he will be ashamed."
