Seven suspects who posed as MİT officers and committed fraud were caught.

Seven suspects were detained in four provinces centered in Diyarbakır, accused of posing as intelligence, MİT and government officials and defrauding people by promising to get their relatives out of prison and place them in public institutions.

Within the scope of the aggravated fraud investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate carried out work. It was determined that the suspects introduced themselves as an ‘Intelligence Officer’, ‘MİT Officer’ and ‘State Official’, and defrauded victims by promising to get their relatives out of prison or to place them in jobs at public institutions, taking money from them.

7 PEOPLE DETAINED

In the investigations, it was determined that 7 people were victimized in 7 separate incidents in Diyarbakır in 2026. Following this, simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, Mersin and Mardin, centered in Diyarbakır, at around 06:00 this morning. Seven suspects were detained in the operation, and it was reported that efforts to capture 1 suspect are ongoing.

During searches at the suspects' addresses, 2 public identity cards assessed as forged and a large amount of digital material were seized. The suspects' procedures at the police station are ongoing.
