While names like Arda Turan and Fatih Terim have been mentioned by the claret-blue club, the route has turned towards a foreign coach, and it has been claimed that contact was recently made with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Following Fatih Tekke's departure from Trabzonspor, the search for a new head coach continues. The claret-blue management is evaluating different alternatives for who to bring in to lead the team.
While names such as Arda Turan, Fatih Terim, Sergio Conceiçao, Vitor Pereira, and Marcelino have previously been on the agenda for the head coach position, a surprising candidate has now emerged.
STEVEN GERRARD CLAIM
According to a report on Ajansspor, Trabzonspor has made contact with Steven Gerrard, who most recently managed Al-Ettifaq. It was stated that the 46-year-old English coach was proposed to the claret-blue club, and the Trabzonspor management is considering the Gerrard option.

Gerrard, who spent the majority of his playing career at Liverpool, was also one of the key figures for the England national team for many years. The English coach, who began his managerial career in Liverpool's youth setup, later took charge of Rangers, Aston Villa, and Al-Ettifaq.

PRESIDENT DOGAN HAD POINTED TO A FOREIGN COACH
Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan had also stated in his remarks regarding the head coach search that they were closer to a foreign name.
Dogan, saying they had not met with Arda Turan, Fatih Terim, Senol Gunes, and Abdullah Avci, said, "It looks like it will be a foreign head coach. Our work is in that direction. There are coaches we have met with, planned with, and from whom we have requested reports regarding the team."
While the decision of the claret-blue management on the head coach is awaited, whether Steven Gerrard will take over at Trabzonspor will become clear following the meetings to be held.
