IT INJURED A WOMAN
An ownerless monkey entered the Maya 2 container city located in the Arpahan neighborhood of Antakya district. The escaped monkey roamed the container city for a while. A resident of the container city wanted to give bread to the monkey. The monkey injured the woman who wanted to give it bread on her hand.
CAPTURED AFTER A CHASE
Residents who saw the monkey in the container city reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, prompting fire department teams and Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate teams to be dispatched to the scene. The teams captured the monkey after a chase. The captured monkey was taken into protection by the teams. The protected monkey will be sent to Mersin after its care.
IT APPEARED LAST NIGHT
Gökçen Özdilek, who stated that he saw the escaped monkey wandering in the container city, said, "We are in Maya 2 Container City. We saw the monkey while we were moving last night. The monkey is actually a cute animal. Since it was aggressive, we could not approach it. We notified the municipal teams. They captured the monkey as a result of their efforts. Thanks to the teams, they didn't let us get close. The capture took a while. I believe the monkey continues its life healthily."
