The New Bahçelievler Project, to be implemented by Gazi Konut under the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, will bring citizens together with nature alongside their families. Gazi Konut, established by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality to meet the city's housing needs with affordable and high-quality projects and notable for its works to date, is preparing to offer another new living project to the people of Gaziantep. Thanks to the New Bahçelievler Project, citizens will have a living space intertwined with soil and nature, where they can escape the city's hectic pace. In the project, which will rise in the Bedirköy and Suboğazı neighborhoods of Şehitkamil district, a total of 20 thousand garden houses will be built, each consisting of 50 square meters of garden area, 14 square meters of veranda, and 30 square meters of enclosed space.
ALL WORK ON THE PROJECT COMPLETED Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin stated that people want to spend peaceful time with their extended families on weekends by connecting with the soil. Expressing that implementing the concept of urban gardens in big cities is not easy, Şahin said that Gazi Konut has prepared a comprehensive study for this reason. Mayor Şahin said, "We need to increase spaces where people can relieve all their stress when walking on soil, where grounding occurs. Providing the concept we call urban gardens in big cities is not very easy. That's why we did a very good job. The garden houses prepared by Gazi Konut within 1 million square meters, all the work has been done." Şahin, stating that the project will offer citizens a new area where they can connect with nature, spend time with their families, and escape the stress of city life, expressed that the New Bahçelievler will be an important living model for Gaziantep.
FAMILIES WILL CONNECT WITH THE SOIL Mayor Fatma Şahin stated that within the scope of the project, they have completed a work where families can come together, rest, chat, and connect with nature. She noted that the project is designed not only as housing but also as a living space that brings families together with production and nature. Şahin said, "Inside, there is a space for a family with a kitchen downstairs where they can cook, eat, and have breakfast. Upstairs, there are bedrooms where grandma, grandpa, and grandchildren can sleep together. In front of this compact system, there is our garden. Our children need to see how tomatoes grow, what a pepper seedling looks like, what a cucumber smells like, what the difference is in Antep pepper, and they need to see how the seedling they plant comes to life and transforms into a wonderfully fragrant tomato on the breakfast table. This is our intention with Bahçelievler. We have completed a work where people will come together with their extended families on weekends, connect with the soil, rest, and chat." Şahin, stating that the New Bahçelievler Project will offer children the opportunity to learn about soil, production, and natural living, noted that they aim to create an environment where families can spend time together on weekends, away from the density of the city center.
PROJECT TO BE SHARED WITH THE PUBLIC IN JULY Mayor Fatma Şahin announced that the project will be shared with the public in July and that the garden houses will be completed within one year based on incoming demands. Stating that the project is prepared as both a boutique and an economic model, Şahin said they aim for a structure accessible to different income groups. Şahin said, "It is boutique and at the same time just as economical. We have worked on a model where a retiree can buy it, a middle-income person can buy it, making affordability easier. May the garden houses, both economical and peaceful, where happy extended families come together, be auspicious." The New Bahçelievler Project aims to offer a new living model where citizens can connect with nature, spend quality time with their families, and escape the stress of city life. With the completion of the project, it is planned to create a new living space intertwined with nature, economical, and family-oriented in Gaziantep.
