In the investigation into Bolu Municipality, it was determined that some garbage collection vehicles were shown as working on days they did not work, resulting in an excess and unjustified payment of 34.2 million Turkish Liras to the contractor company. While legal proceedings were initiated against 23 suspects, including the currently detained Mayor Tanju Özcan, detention decisions were issued for the 22 suspects other than Özcan.
Striking findings have been reached within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Bolu Municipality.
In the investigation, it was determined that some vehicles used in the municipality's garbage collection services were shown as if they had worked on days when they did not work.
DETECTION OF OVERPAYMENT OF 34 MILLION 288 THOUSAND LIRAS
In the examinations, it was determined that the contractor company was overpaid and unjustly paid 34 million 288 thousand 376 TL for garbage collection vehicles that were shown as working even though they did not work.
Within the scope of the investigation, legal proceedings were initiated against a total of 23 suspects, including Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, as well as municipal administrators, municipal personnel, and company officials.
DETENTION DECISION FOR 22 SUSPECTS
A detention decision was issued for 22 suspects other than Tanju Özcan, who is currently under arrest.
Following the decision, gendarmerie teams took action. A simultaneous operation was launched in 7 provinces centered in Bolu to capture the suspects.
SEARCH AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING
It was reported that gendarmerie teams conducted a search at the Bolu Mayor's Office building within the scope of the operation.
Detention procedures and searches at the municipal building continue within the scope of the investigation.
