IYI Party Spokesperson Buğra Kavuncu stated, "We propose the establishment of an urgent Parliamentary Commission regarding whether there are Turkish children who are victims in the Epstein case, and if so, their fate, rehabilitation, and protection if they are alive and accessible, to be conducted under the roof of the parliament."
İYİ Party spokesperson Buğra Kavuncu stated, "We propose the establishment of an urgent parliamentary commission regarding whether there are Turkish children who are victims within the scope of the Epstein files, their fate if they exist, and their rehabilitation and protection if they are alive and accessible. Such issues are a matter of humanity above any political calculations," he said.
After the İYİ Party Presidential Board meeting, Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Buğra Kavuncu made statements regarding the agenda at the party's headquarters.
KAVUNCU'S PROPOSAL ON EPSTEIN
Buğra Kavuncu reported that the "Epstein documents," which occupy the public's attention not only in Turkey but around the world, are released at certain intervals, and that among the documents, there are correspondences containing horrific allegations and serious criminal elements.
Kavuncu stated that as the documents are revealed, a large global perverse network continues to be deciphered, saying: "It appears that the disclosures are made whenever and as much as those holding the documents wish, regarding whoever they choose. In the most recently published documents, we saw that there is information and documents related to our country. It is not difficult to predict that we will continue to see this. The issue of child disappearances frequently comes to the agenda in Turkey, especially after earthquakes. However, it quickly fades from the agenda amid the rapidly changing national issues. We feel indescribable sorrow for every child who is a victim of this perverse network. However, when the possibility arises that Turkish children under our responsibility may be victims of this horrific network, it is impossible for us to remain silent and wait.
As the İYİ Party, we are calling on the government. We propose the establishment of an urgent parliamentary commission regarding whether there are Turkish children who are victims within the scope of the Epstein files, their fate if they exist, and their rehabilitation and protection if they are alive and accessible. Such issues are a matter of humanity above any political calculations. Indeed, the mentioned period dates back to 2002, which is before the AK Party came to power. Therefore, this call of ours is not a proposal targeting a specific political side. If there are collaborators of this despicable network in our country, we are ready to provide all kinds of open support to ensure they receive the heaviest penalties."
"THE PEACE, STABILITY, AND INTEGRITY OF SYRIA ARE IMPORTANT TO US"
Kavuncu, stating that they closely follow the events in Syria as the İYİ Party, said, "We do not want a geography where terrorist organizations roam and thrive right next to us. The inability to establish the desired legitimate government authority in northern Syria, and the position taken by the PKK's extensions to protect the terrorist organizations in the region, poses a significant risk to the security of the area," he said.
Kavuncu noted that they have always drawn attention to the dangers regarding Syria, stating that it would be naive to claim that the PKK has laid down its arms as long as the SDG does not disarm, and continued:
"Today we see that the structure called SDG/YPG in Syria is completely under the control of the PKK and is managed by the instructions of the PKK leadership. It is significant that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is saying almost the same things we have been saying during this process, and when he is asked to be held accountable, he is not defended in any way. Two issues are important to us. One; we have no tolerance for the strengthening of any structure that threatens the integrity and security of our country. Whether it is ISIS, YPG, or another terrorist organization. Whoever it may be, we have no tolerance for any hand that reaches out to Turkey's security."
"RELOCATE THE SULEYMAN SHAH TOMB TO ITS ORIGINAL PLACE"
Kavuncu expressed that as the İYİ Party, they are closely following the situation of the Syrian Turkmen, which is a historical, cultural, and national red line for Turkey, and stated: "Are the rights and laws of the Turkmen being protected during this new period of the Syrian government, which the government frequently and enthusiastically announces to have very close relations with and has achieved significant gains? Are the Turkmen, whose highest representative could only be a Deputy Minister during the process, and who has recently resigned due to the latest events, satisfied with the developments?
We know they are not. Since you keep saying there is a Syrian government that does not go back on its word, then make sufficient efforts for the representation of the Syrian Turkmen and their equal citizenship rights. Now, thankfully, restore the Suleyman Shah Tomb, which has been cleared of terrorist elements, to its former state. Carry out the transfer of Suleyman Shah's remains to its original place, which is Turkish territory. We will also be there with our heads held high in respect for the sacred memory of our ancestors."
