Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, whose name appears hundreds of times in documents related to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being tried for allegedly running a prostitution ring for underage girls in the U.S., experienced another shock. Her son Marius Borg Hoiby, who is awaiting trial in a rape case, was detained in the capital Oslo on charges of assault and threats.
Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who has been in the headlines due to her relationship with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being tried for allegedly running a prostitution ring for underage girls in the U.S., has been re-arrested. Her son Marius Borg Hoiby is set to appear before a judge tomorrow in the rape case he is being tried for.
TO BE TRIED FOR 38 DIFFERENT CRIMES In a statement from the Oslo police, it was noted that Hoiby was arrested for assault, threats with a knife, and resisting arrest. NRK, a Norwegian broadcaster, reported that the first hearing of the case in which Hoiby is being tried for 38 different crimes, including rape, will take place tomorrow.
Mette-Marit and Marius Borg Hoiby HAS BEEN ARRESTED TWICE BEFORE Hoiby, the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been arrested twice in 2024 on charges of rape, which he has denied. It is reported that Hoiby, who is facing legal proceedings, has previously been involved in violations such as driving without a license and causing harm to others. In Norway, the maximum prison sentence for such sexual assault crimes is 10 years.
IT WAS ALLEGED THAT SHE BECAME PREGNANT BY EPSTEIN Following the announcement by U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that they had shared more than 3 million new files related to the investigation of Epstein with the public, the mention of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit in the documents drew attention.
The documents revealed that there were hundreds of email correspondences between Mette-Marit and Epstein, that the Princess visited Epstein's home in Palm Beach, and that she was a guest there for at least four days. Additionally, it was stated that messages containing meeting plans, social chats, and more personal tones were found, and it was claimed that some correspondences included offers and messages from Epstein directed at Mette-Marit. Some documents even reported allegations that Marit had been pregnant by Epstein at one point.
After the emergence of the documents, Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit made a statement expressing that she holds responsibility for not having researched Epstein's past better and for not understanding what kind of person he was quickly enough. "I feel deep sorrow for this," she said.
