A 65-year-old woman trying to cross the road in Düzce was hit by a motorcycle, along with her 6-year-old grandson. The grandmother died at the scene, while the grandson passed away in the hospital.

Yesterday at around 17:00, a motorcycle with license plate 81 MA 0082, driven by Iranian national Salar Zare Glahecheh, hit Fatma Küpküç (65) and her grandson Egemen Küpküç (6), who were trying to cross the road at the Beyciler junction on the D-655 highway between Düzce and Zonguldak.
GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDSON LOST THEIR LIVES
As the grandmother and grandson were thrown onto the road, health and police teams were dispatched to the accident site upon the notification of bystanders. It was determined during the health team's examination that Fatma Küpküç had lost her life. Injured Egemen Küpküç and motorcycle driver Glahecheh were taken to Düzce University Medical Faculty Hospital. The body of Fatma Küpküç was also placed in the morgue of the same hospital. Despite all efforts by doctors, Egemen Küpküç, who was receiving treatment at the hospital, could not be saved. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
