ACCOUNTS CAN BE EMPTIED
Fraudsters can copy the magnetic stripe data of cards using fake card readers called "skimming" placed in the ATM's card entry area. At the same time, a camera hidden on the keypad or a fake keypad captures users' passwords. With the obtained information, a copy of the card can be created and money withdrawn from the account.
CHECK THESE BEFORE PERFORMING A TRANSACTION
Experts advise checking the card slot for any looseness, protrusions, or attachments that appear to have been added later before using an ATM. It is stated that if an unusual thickness is noticed on the keypad or suspicious devices are found around the ATM, no transaction should be performed. Covering the keypad with a hand while entering the password is also among the important security measures.

If the card remains in the ATM, an unusual mechanism is found in the cash dispenser, or the ATM operates differently, it is recommended to contact the bank's customer service immediately and have the card deactivated.
