The "human refrigerator", developed against the extreme heat increasing its impact in Japan, has been put on sale. The single-person cooling cabinet aims to cool the user within 5 to 10 minutes and was specifically designed for workers in factories, warehouses, and open areas. Seen as a new solution in the fight against extreme heat, the product is attracting great interest in the country.
The extreme heat increasing its effect in Japan has brought along an unusual technology. The single-person cooling cabin, called the "human refrigerator," has been put on sale to cool the user within minutes.
NEW SOLUTION AGAINST EXTREME HEAT
The single-person cooling cabin, named "Do Hiemon Box" and developed by Japanese cooling and vending machine manufacturer SDRS, was designed to provide quick cooling for people working in extreme heat. The product began to attract attention after recent air temperatures in Japan exceeded 40 degrees Celsius.
COOLS IN 5 MINUTES
While the internal temperature of the cabin, which resembles a giant refrigerator, is kept at about 15 degrees Celsius, cold air at about 5 degrees Celsius is blown onto the sitting user's head, neck, shoulders, and back area. The manufacturer states that users cool down noticeably within about 5 minutes, and 10 minutes of use can help alleviate heatstroke symptoms.
FIRST TARGET: FACTORIES AND OUTDOOR AREAS
It was stated that the system, offered for sale with a price tag of approximately 1.5 million yen, was developed for workers in factories, warehouses, construction sites, and outdoor events rather than for individual use. Thanks to its wheeled structure, the cabin can be moved to any desired location and automatically shuts down after 20 minutes to prevent excessive cooling.
