The Turkish television series industry has continued to attract global attention in recent years. Productions broadcast in nearly 170 countries have reached approximately one billion viewers, making Turkey one of the strongest players in television exports worldwide. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, not remaining indifferent to this rising momentum, is also preparing to advance the sector with a new support model. Minister Ersoy announced that support will be provided for series up to the equivalent of 100,000 dollars in Turkish lira per episode.

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy emphasized that Turkish series are no longer just television products, but also the locomotive of Turkey's promotion and tourism strategy. Ersoy stated that Turkey has risen to become one of the three largest television industries in the world in terms of sales and export power, noting that the sector has surpassed a historic threshold with export revenues exceeding 1 billion dollars.
MINISTER ERSOY SHARED THE NEW MODEL
According to Ersoy, Turkish series also serve as the world's largest Turkish language course. The use of Turkish words by people from different cultures, their inclination to learn the language, naming their children with Turkish names, and their desire to visit Turkey through these series are seen as indicators of the deep and lasting impact created by the sector.
Ersoy stated that an area developing at this scale and speed cannot be addressed with old patterns, pointing out that "screen tourism" has become a strategic area used by countries as a soft power element, not just a temporary trend. He noted that people now want to experience not only the stories but also the places where those stories take place.
BROADCASTING TIME WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT
Sharing the details of the new support model, Ersoy announced that series contributing to Turkey's promotion and meeting the specified criteria will receive support of up to 100,000 dollars in Turkish lira per episode. It was reported that this support will be provided in cooperation with the Ministry and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency.
Ersoy reminded that series in Turkey are broadcast for an average of 120 minutes but are exported abroad in 40-45 minute episodes, stating that the domestic broadcasting time will be taken as the basis for support calculations. In this context, he indicated that this means a maximum support of 33,000 dollars in Turkish lira for each episode broadcast abroad.
THE CAPACITY OF THE SECTOR WILL BE INCREASED
Ersoy also mentioned that the Ministry will accelerate bureaucratic processes related to shooting locations and provide conveniences such as the free allocation of areas under the Ministry's control, noting that steps to increase the production capacity of the sector will continue. With the new model aimed at further strengthening the global success of Turkish series, it is intended to create a stronger impact in the fields of culture and tourism.
