Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a statement regarding the 4.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Gümüşhane in the morning, saying, "Friends, there was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake on a short fault connected to the Erzincan segment of the Eastern Anatolian Fault in Eskiyol. The location is important."
AFAD announced that an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane.
The Ministry of Interior's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced that an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred at 06:09 centered in Gümüşhane.
It was reported that the earthquake, which was felt in surrounding provinces, occurred at a depth of 5.09 kilometers.
GOVERNOR BARUŞ: NO NEGATIVE SITUATION REPORTED
Gümüşhane Governor Aydın Baruş made a statement on his social media account regarding the earthquake. In his statement, Governor Baruş said, "At 06:09, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred in our Kelkit district. So far, no negative situation has been reported due to the earthquake. Get well soon, Kelkit, get well soon, Gümüşhane."
FELT IN ERZİNCAN AS WELL
The 4.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane was also felt in Erzincan. Following the tremor felt in surrounding provinces and districts, a statement was made by the Erzincan Governorship.
The statement from the governorship included the following remarks;
At around 06:09, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred with its epicenter in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane, and it was also felt in our province. After the earthquake, our relevant units have started field surveys in our province, and so far, there is no negative situation regarding loss of life or property. Additionally, our relevant institutions have not received any reports of negativity from our citizens so far. We extend our best wishes to all citizens affected by the earthquake.

Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür also provided an assessment regarding the earthquake. In a post on his social media account, he stated:
