37-year-old writer Murat Koparan was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in his villa in Uskudar. SPOKE WITH HIS EX-WIFE ON THE PHONE
The incident occurred at around 16:15 on Tuesday, August 25, in the Bahçelievler neighborhood of Üsküdar. According to allegations, Murat Koparan spoke on the phone with his ex-wife Elif Feyza Y., from whom he divorced about 2 years ago, approximately one hour before the incident.
During the phone call, Elif Feyza Y. heard gunshots and reported the situation to the police. Following the report, teams were directed to the villa where Koparan was staying.
FIREFIGHTERS ENTERED THE VILLA VIA BALCONY
After the report, teams arriving at the villa began efforts to enter. Firefighter teams reached the villa's balcony using a ladder and entered from there. During the inspection of the villa, Murat Koparan was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the bathroom on the third floor. Health teams determined that the 37-year-old Koparan had lost his life.
HE WAS A FATHER OF 4 CHILDREN
Following Koparan's death, police teams conducted a detailed examination of the villa. During the investigations, a pistol considered to be unlicensed was found.
