While debates continue in the CHP following the court's absolute nullity decision, Gürsel Tekin made notable statements regarding the congress process. Tekin stated that the congress could be held no earlier than 7-8 months, adding, "But first, let's remove this disgrace. Let the precautionary measures of our precautionary colleagues be legally lifted, and let the investigations and detentions end. Only then can we hold a healthy, legitimate, and strong congress."
Following the management change in CHP due to the court's absolute nullity decision, congress debates continue, while Gürsel Tekin made notable statements. Tekin stated that a new congress is legally impossible under current conditions and expressed that the process can only be healthily completed within 7-8 months.
HE WAS IN THE FRONT ROW AT KILIÇDAROĞLU'S RALLY
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP Chairman by court decision, gathered with party members at CHP Headquarters for Eid al-Adha. During the event where Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the public, Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Administration by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, was also in the front rows.
"CONGRESS CAN HAPPEN WITHIN 7-8 MONTHS"
Speaking to tv100, Gürsel Tekin argued that the suggestion of a 'congress within 45 days' raised by some party members is not possible under current conditions.
Tekin said, 'Our friends say, 'Let's hold a congress in 45 days.' This is legally impossible. The Istanbul delegate is under precautionary measures. There are 196 delegates. 163 delegates are in the investigation file. Currently, 43 of our delegate friends are detained. In an environment with so many issues, it is not possible to hold a new congress with the current delegates. These problems can be resolved very quickly within 7-8 months.'
"FIRST, LET'S REMOVE THIS SHAME"
After his statements, Tekin commented that they are not against the congress, but the priority is to resolve legal issues.
Tekin stated, 'Of course we will hold a congress. But first, let's remove this shame. Let the precautionary measures for our friends be legally lifted, let the investigations and detentions end. Only then can we hold a healthy, legitimate, and strong congress. Instead of rushing for the future of our party, let's first clear these legal obstacles and take the right and solid steps. This is the right thing to do.'
