Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that travel time on the Halkalı-İstanbul Airport line will be reduced to 30 minutes with integrations, and expressed that a significant transformation in Istanbul's transportation network will occur with the new section opening on June 19.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that the construction of the Halkalı-Arnavutköy section of the Halkalı-İstanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Line has been completed.
Minister Uraloglu stated that the line will be opened to service on June 19 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He noted that the project was planned in two parts: Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport and İstanbul Airport-Halkalı.
It was stated that the Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport section of the Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport line was put into service on January 22, 2023, and the Kağıthane-Gayrettepe section on January 29, 2024. It was also reminded that the section between Cargo Terminal and Arnavutköy Hospital was activated on March 19, 2024.

Minister Uraloglu stated that the work on the 21.75-kilometer Halkalı-Arnavutköy section has been completed and said:
"We have completed the work on the 21.75-kilometer Halkalı-Arnavutköy section. In this context, we will open our Ibn Haldun University, Kayaşehir, Olimpiyatköy, Halkalı Stadium, and Halkalı stations between Halkalı and Arnavutköy. Thanks to the integrations provided, the travel time between Halkalı and İstanbul Airport will drop to 30 minutes."
METRO INTEGRATIONS
It was stated that with the activation of the entire line, integration will be provided at the Ibn Haldun University station of the Vezneciler-Sultangazi-Fenertepe metro, at the Kayaşehir station of the Bakırköy-Kirazlı-Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro, at the Olimpiyatköy station of the Ataköy-İkitelli-Olimpiyat metro, and at the Halkalı Stadium station of the Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt metro.
