In the Şile Municipality investigation, it was determined that Haluk Levent's brother Berkant Acil, who is under arrest, obtained the 35th International Şile Cloth Festival tender through direct procurement by using Sur Müzik Yapım Şirketi as a front, and inflated expenses with fake invoices. It was found that 125 million 765 thousand liras in donations to the Ahbap Association were transferred to accounts belonging to Berkant Acil and individuals connected to him.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering, 14 people, including Haluk Levent, were arrested in connection with the investigation targeting Ahbap Association. The procedures for 14 suspects still in custody are ongoing.
MONEY TRANSFERS EXCEEDING 125 MILLION TL In the scope of the Ahbap Association investigation, it was determined that Haluk Levent's brother, suspect Berkant Acil, who is currently under arrest in connection with the investigation targeting Şile Municipality, obtained the 35th International Şile Fabric Festival organized by Şile Municipality through direct procurement by using Sur Music Production Company as a front, that the direct procurement tender was irregular, that the suspects inflated expenses such as stage, lighting, and sound systems by obtaining fake invoices, that the financial expert report identified the embezzlements, and that a portion of the donations made to Ahbap Association was transferred to the personal account of Haluk Levent's assistant Yeliz Kaya, after which 125 million 765 thousand lira was transferred to the accounts of Berkant Acil, related suspects, and companies, thus obtaining illicit gains and using the donations for purposes other than their intended use.
Berkant Acil TRUSTEES APPOINTED TO 4 COMPANIES In operations conducted in the provinces of Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla targeting the suspects, 14 of the 17 suspects were detained. It was learned that 3 people, including Berkant Acil, were already under arrest, and trustees were appointed to 4 companies. The detained suspects were referred to the courthouse today.
