Hamas announced the names of 183 Palestinians who will be released on February 1 as part of the fourth round of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. Among those to be released are individuals sentenced to life imprisonment and those detained after October 7.
Hamas has published the names of 183 Palestinians who will be released on Saturday, February 1, as part of the fourth round of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza.
7 PEOPLE WILL BE SENT OUTSIDE PALESTINE
In a statement from the Hamas-affiliated Prisoners Media Office, it was announced that among the Palestinian prisoners to be released on Saturday, February 1, 18 have been sentenced to life imprisonment, 54 to heavy prison sentences, and 111 are individuals who were detained after October 7, 2023. The statement noted that 7 of the individuals planned for release will be sent outside of Palestine.
Additionally, it was recorded that the release of 54 prisoners from the Fatah Movement, 8 from the Hamas Movement, 6 from the Islamic Jihad Movement, 2 from the Popular Front, and 2 from the Democratic Front is planned.
CEASEFIRE AND PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT
The ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement reached between Israel and Hamas came into effect on Sunday, January 19, at 12:15 PM (TRT). In the first 42 days of the ceasefire agreement, which will consist of three phases, 33 Israeli prisoners and over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners will be released.
In the first 3 rounds of the prisoner exchange, a total of 400 Palestinian prisoners gained their freedom, while 10 Israelis and 5 Thais held in Gaza were released.
