Hamas has released Edan Alexander, the last known American hostage, who also holds Israeli citizenship. Hamas reported that Alexander was handed over to Red Cross teams in the northern part of the Khan Younis area of the Gaza Strip.
RELEASED AS A RESULT OF CONTACTS WITH THE US ADMINISTRATION
Hamas stated that Alexander was released as a result of contacts with the US administration, as part of "intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire, open border crossings, and allow humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip."

Hamas stated, "We believe that serious negotiations can lead to tangible results regarding hostages. The continuation of aggression will only endanger the lives of the hostages."
CALL TO TRUMP REGARDING GAZA
Hamas reiterated its readiness for negotiations for a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire agreement and the reconstruction of Gaza, calling on US President Donald Trump to continue efforts to end the attacks on Gaza.
ISRAEL CONFIRMED HIS RELEASE
The Israeli army confirmed that Alexander had been released, stating, "According to information provided by the Red Cross, a hostage was handed over to them and is on his way to the Israeli forces in Gaza."
