Famous singer Hande Yener responded to those who called her a "sycophant" for meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Yener firmly replied, "Who am I going to talk to? Of course, I will talk to my esteemed state official!"
Famous pop artist Hande Yener made attention-grabbing statements during her concert at the Harbiye Open-Air Stage. Highlighting the current issues of violence against women, Yener also responded to being the target of criticism.
SHE RESPONDED ON STAGE TO THOSE WHO CALL HER A SYCOPHANT
During a break in her concert, Yener recalled the meeting she had in 2019 with Demet Akalın and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating that they presented a social responsibility project related to child abuse and violence against women. Evaluating those who criticized her by calling her a 'sycophant,' Yener said, "Years ago, I went to visit our esteemed president, and I was called a sycophant for going. Let them say it, it doesn't matter at all!" She emphasized the issues of violence against women and violence against animals. "Every day a woman is dying, it breaks our hearts. We were told that very heavy penalties would come, we promise. That's why we went, and let me explain this here today," she added.
'OF COURSE I WILL TALK TO MY STATE OFFICIAL'
Continuing her speech, Yener emphasized the importance of seeking solutions, saying, "Who will I talk to? Of course, I will talk to my state official! Sometimes we really put ourselves in a position where we choose to destroy instead of finding a solution. We must be solution-oriented. We should not all chase the solution!"
