The vast majority of pilgrimage candidates in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, one of the pillars of Islam, have arrived in Arafat. Including Turks, the pilgrimage candidates started moving in groups from 2:00 PM yesterday to Arafat, located 25 kilometers east of Mecca.
Before the move, Saudi Arabian authorities checked the "Nusuk" cards of the pilgrimage candidates one by one through the system. After the checks, barcodes containing the group information were attached to the buses.
PILGRIMAGE CANDIDATES REACH ARAFAT
Most of the vehicles carrying the pilgrimage candidates reached Arafat during the night hours. The buses continued transporting the candidates to Arafat until morning. The pilgrimage candidates who arrived in Arafat with the first buses went up to Jabal al-Rahmah (Mount of Mercy), where Prophet Adam and Eve met on earth and the first repentance was accepted, and offered prayers.
The pilgrimage candidates, guided to their accommodation areas by group leaders, are staying in air-conditioned high tents. They spend their time in Arafat reading the Quran, praying, and supplicating.
HEAD OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS ARPAGUŞ PERFORMED THE STANDING PRAYER
Today, after the noon and afternoon prayers were combined and performed (Jam' al-Taqdeem), the Head of Religious Affairs, Safi Arpaguş, performed the Standing Prayer.
After the Arafat standing and prayer, the pilgrimage candidates will proceed to Muzdalifah, where they will collect 49 stones for stoning the devil. Performing the evening and night prayers combined (Jam' al-Ta'khir), the candidates will walk in groups to Mina after the Muzdalifah standing.
Upon reaching Mina, only 7 stones will be thrown at the Jamrat al-Aqaba, called the "Great Devil."
The sacrifices of the pilgrims will be performed by the Hajj organization through proxy. After shaving and removing the ihram, the pilgrims will perform the Tawaf al-Ziyarah around the Kaaba and then the Sa'i of Hajj.
On the 2nd and 3rd days of Eid, after noon, 7 stones each will be thrown at the Small, Middle, and Large Jamarat in order.
