During the discussions on the "framework law" proposal in the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission, remarks by İYİ Party's Ayyüce Türkeş Taş, criticizing the use of her father Alparslan Türkeş's political legacy, escalated tensions: "They cannot whitewash their own dirt by using Türkeş as their bleach." MHP's Muhammed Levent Bülbül reacted, saying, "Watch your mouth, you are the dirt." Bülbül, who pounded the table, then moved toward İYİ Party's Burak Dalgın, who had objected to him.
A heated argument broke out between İYİ Party Adana Deputy Ayyüce Türkeş Taş and MHP Sakarya Deputy Muhammed Levent Bülbül during the discussions on the "framework law" proposal in the TBMM Justice Commission. In response to Türkeş Taş's criticism of the use of her father Alparslan Türkeş's political legacy, in which she said, "They cannot whitewash their own dirt by using Türkeş as their bleach," Bülbül reacted, saying, "Watch your mouth, you are the dirt." Bülbül, who slammed his fist on the table, then moved toward İYİ Party Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın, who had objected to him. After deputies intervened, the commission discussions were briefly suspended.
"MAKING LAW IS A SERIOUS MATTER"
İYİ Party Adana Deputy Ayyüce Türkeş Taş stated in her speech during the discussions on the "framework law" proposal in the TBMM Justice Commission that she did not understand why the commission discussions on the bill were being squeezed into just one day.
Türkeş Taş said that the discussions should be more comprehensive, using the following words: "I don't understand why this law has to be finished in one day. Why do the commission discussions on this law have to fit into just one day? I find this hard to understand. Because making law is a serious job, a serious matter. It is a matter that needs deliberation and thought. It is being tried to be squeezed under a heading. You have put so much pressure that I didn't even know how to begin my speech."
"I REJECT THE EQUATING OF THE PRESIDENT WITH A TERROR CONVICT BY USING 'MR.'"
Türkeş Taş criticized the addressing of the President and terror convict Abdullah Öcalan as "Mr." under the roof of the Parliament, expressing her opposition to this.
Türkeş Taş said: "Again in this commission, under the roof of the Parliament, I absolutely reject the equating of the President with the baby killer, the İmralı murderer, a terror convict, by calling them 'Mr.,' both as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and as a citizen of the great Turkish nation. I request that measures be taken on this matter as well."
"TURKISH SOLDIERS WERE CALLED 'HONOR ENEMIES'"
Stating that she experienced a similar situation in the Plan and Budget Commission, Türkeş Taş recalled the expressions used against Turkish soldiers during the discussion of the Ministry of National Defense budget.
Türkeş Taş said, "While the Ministry of National Defense budget was being discussed, Turkish soldiers were called 'honor enemies.' No one other than me reacted. Not even a word was said to the deputy. I absolutely reject this mentality."
"WITH WHAT TITLE WILL HE COME AND SPEAK IN THE TBMM?"
Also criticizing the invitation of Abdullah Öcalan to the TBMM, Türkeş Taş said, "The same murderer is being invited to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. With what title will he come and speak in the Turkish Grand National Assembly? I absolutely reject this. The wrong starts right here."
"HOW MANY LIRAS IS THE COST OF THE MARTYRS, MR. CHAIRMAN?"
Reacting to the evaluations made over the "cost of terrorism" during the discussions on the bill, Türkeş Taş noted that different figures were being brought up.
Türkeş Taş continued her speech as follows: "What cost are we talking about? Aren't you ashamed? For 25 years, you now proudly talk about the money you spent on that terrorism. 'Our era of mastery, we are like this, we are like that, we are world leaders...' You say everything. Are you asking the cost of the indivisible integrity of the mighty Republic of Turkey, its unitary structure, the flag not being lowered, and these lands remaining forever?"
Arguing that the cost that would arise if the fight against the PKK were not waged and the country were divided should be asked, Türkeş Taş continued: "If the fight against the PKK had not been waged, if this homeland had been divided, if this flag had been lowered, what would its cost have been? How many liras is the cost of these lands, Mr. Chairman? How many liras is the cost of the martyrs, Mr. Chairman? What are we measuring here, Mr. Chairman? As a Turk, as a Turkish nationalist, as a Türkeş, as a valuable child of the Turkish nation and a valuable member of this honorable Parliament, I absolutely reject these, and believe me, I am ashamed."
REMINDED OF THE DISCOURSE IN THE 2023 ELECTIONS
Türkeş Taş also criticized the assessments that 95 percent of the Parliament decided to establish a commission. Saying that in the 2023 elections, deputies campaigned based on security policies in the field, Türkeş Taş noted that during that period, discourses were used that Abdullah Öcalan would be pardoned and that PKK members would operate in cities.

Ayyüce Türkeş Taş also criticized the use of the political legacy of her father and former MHP Chairman Alparslan Türkeş. Türkeş Taş said: "I also reject the exploitation of my father, Başbuğ Alparslan Türkeş. No one can say that the Nationalist Movement Party has consistently pursued the same politics from 1969 to today. The politics Türkeş pursued in 1997 is over. We have respect for its new leader. Every brave man has his own way of eating yogurt; we cannot say anything about his way of eating yogurt. But you cannot put Türkeş's way of eating yogurt and today's politics on the same scale. You cannot whitewash your own actions by using Türkeş."

The tension in the commission rose after Türkeş Taş's words regarding the political legacy of her father Alparslan Türkeş. In this part of her speech, Türkeş Taş used the following expressions: "I also reject the exploitation of my father, Başbuğ Alparslan Türkeş. No one can say that the Nationalist Movement Party has consistently pursued the same politics from 1969 to today. The politics Türkeş pursued in 1997 is over. We have respect for its new leader. Every brave man has his own way of eating yogurt; we cannot say anything about his way of eating yogurt. But he cannot compare Türkeş's way of eating yogurt with his own way of eating yogurt. He cannot whitewash his own dirt by using Türkeş as his bleach."
HARSH REACTION FROM MHP'S BÜLBÜL: "YOU ARE THE DIRT"
MHP Sakarya Deputy Muhammed Levent Bülbül reacted harshly to these words of Türkeş Taş. Bülbül said, "Watch your mouth, you are the dirt. You cannot call the MHP Leader's actions dirt. You must know whose child you are. You cannot call the actions of a party chairman dirt." In response to Bülbül's words, Türkeş Taş replied, "I never called the Chairman dirt or anything."
HE POUNDED THE TABLE AND MOVED TOWARD İYİ PARTY'S DALGIN
As the argument continued with mutual exchanges, Bülbül said, "We are fighting so that no one in this world can threaten you," and pounded the table. In response to Bülbül's attitude, İYİ Party Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın reacted, saying, "What are you doing?"
After Dalgın's remarks, Bülbül stood up and walked towards the deputy from the İYİ Party. Deputies from the İYİ Party and MHP intervened and held Bülbül back. During the scuffle that ensued, deputies tried to calm both sides.
COMMISSION MEETINGS SUSPENDED
As the argument escalated, Commission Chairman Yüksel briefly suspended the meetings. Meanwhile, MHP's Muhammed Levent Bülbül was removed from the commission hall. Thus, the dispute in the TBMM Justice Commission, where the "framework law" proposal was being discussed, turned into a scuffle after harsh words were exchanged, with deputies intervening.
