The Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration in the CHP is preparing to establish a comprehensive inspection mechanism for mayors, following the disciplinary process targeting provincial chairpersons. According to information obtained by Haberler.com, a commission composed of legal experts and individuals with local government experience will examine all municipalities; expulsion proceedings will be initiated against mayors against whom serious evidence of corruption is found.
After the administration of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the CHP initiated expulsion and dismissal processes regarding provincial heads, attention has turned to what kind of process will be implemented for mayors.
According to the report by Haberler.com Ankara Representative Şerife Güzel; a commission consisting of jurists and individuals with local government experience in the CHP will scrutinize all municipalities. An inspection mechanism will operate not only for those facing corruption allegations but for all mayors. The expulsion of mayors for whom serious findings related to corruption allegations have been reached will take place at this stage.
3 CURRENT AND 3 FORMER PROVINCIAL HEADS REFERRED TO DISCIPLINE
In the decision of the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) regarding provincial heads, the initiation of expulsion processes for individuals named in the absolute nullity lawsuit process drew attention. Party Spokesperson Müslüm Sarı explained this situation with the words, "We are initiating a disciplinary process because they are part of the absolute nullity crisis we are in today. We have referred these friends to the High Disciplinary Board with precautionary measures."
Within this scope, the Bursa provincial head, who is said to have initiated the process with his petition, the Erzurum provincial head, whose name appeared in the process, and the Bitlis provincial head, named in the indictment, were referred to discipline with precautionary measures. Additionally, the former provincial heads of Mardin, Batman, and Istanbul, considered related to the nullity case, were also sent to discipline.
IS IT THE MAYORS' TURN?
It is stated that the Kılıçdaroğlu administration, which initiated the disciplinary process regarding organizations, will follow a more cautious process concerning mayors. A new mechanism will be established for all mayors, especially those with corruption allegations on the agenda, and it will be assessed whether expulsion decisions will be made based on the findings of this inspection mechanism.
COMMISSION WILL EXAMINE ALL HEADS
The commission to be formed will consist of jurists and individuals who have served in local governments. This commission will also evaluate reports coming from the party organization and party members. The actions of mayors will be examined in detail. Mayors found to have irregularities in their actions will be removed from the party without waiting for an operation.
