The claim that prosecutors have been granted the authority to directly seize individuals' assets has caused an uproar in the public. STATEMENT FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTORATE
The Communications Directorate's Disinformation Combat Center announced through a statement on its official X account that the claims do not reflect the truth.
In the statement from the DMM, it was noted, "These claims are unfounded and constitute disinformation aimed at misleading the public."
"THERE IS CURRENTLY NO WORK RELATED TO THIS ISSUE"
Firstly, legislative authority, according to Article 7 of the Constitution, exclusively belongs to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. There is currently no work related to this issue on the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
On the other hand, in order to combat qualified fraud, qualified theft, and the misuse of bank/credit cards, and as a requirement of the international agreements we are a party to, technical-level studies are being conducted among relevant institutions, primarily the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Ministry of Justice, as a preparatory measure.
