The incident occurred around 00:45 on August 5 in the Gülbahar Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Nilda Müge Şahin went to Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital with her friend in the evening hours. Şahin and her friend, who left the hospital, then came to the on-duty pharmacy to get medicine.
2 BULLETS ENTERED HER BACK AND EXITED HER CHEST
While Nilda Müge Şahin's friend was getting medicine from the pharmacy, Şahin waited outside. According to allegations, Nazir Ilgın, who was on a black scooter motorcycle with license plate 34 PJ 7763, opened fire with a gun on Nilda Müge Şahin on the street where the pharmacy was located. After the attack, he fled the scene on the scooter motorcycle. The young woman was hit by 2 bullets in the back and 2 in the chest. Şahin was seriously wounded. Police and health teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. Nilda Müge, who was taken to a private hospital in Şişli after the first intervention of health teams, could not be saved despite all interventions.
SHE HAD SEEN HIM AROUND THE HOSPITAL; SHE COULDN'T BE SURE IT WAS HIM
According to Şahin's friend's statement, they noticed a person resembling Nazir Ilgın around the Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital they went to, but they could not be sure whether the person they suspected was Ilgın. Şahin's friend stated that after leaving the hospital, they went to the on-duty pharmacy to get medicine, and Nilda Müge Şahin was subjected to an armed attack on the street where the pharmacy was located.
SHE HAD FILED A COMPLAINT 9 DAYS BEFORE THE MURDER
In the examination, it was determined that Şahin had applied to the Şişli District Police Department's Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women Bureau on Monday, July 27, and filed a complaint about Nazir Ilgın. The suspect was referred to judicial authorities after his procedures; then he was released under judicial control. It was learned that a restraining order was issued against the suspect, and the order was served to him on Sunday, August 2, by teams from the Beşiktaş District Police Department's Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women Bureau. Despite this, it was determined that the suspect shot and killed his ex-girlfriend 3 days after the order was served.
IT WAS REVEALED THAT HE HAD 6 CRIMINAL RECORDS
In the investigation, it was determined that Nazir Ilgın had a total of 6 criminal records: 3 for 'Intentional injury', 1 for 'Insult and threat', and 2 under the 'Law on the protection of the family and the prevention of violence against women'. After the incident, efforts were initiated by teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate and the Public Order Bureau of the Şişli District Police Department to capture the fleeing suspect.
HE HAD PREVIOUSLY TRIED TO KILL HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND
On the other hand, it was determined that in 2020, Nazir Ilgın was subjected to legal proceedings for the crime of 'Attempted intentional homicide' because he beat and stabbed his ex-girlfriend, nurse Ceylan G. The suspect, who was detained after the incident, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police department were completed. It was learned that the suspect, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison by the first instance court, had the decision under review at the appellate court, and the suspect was not under arrest while the file's finalization process continued.
