In the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Sumbas district of Osmaniye, the driver of the car that collided with a pickup truck, 23-year-old Specialist Sergeant Ali Akçay, lost his life. The Sumbas district of Osmaniye was shaken by a tragic traffic accident that occurred around noon today. A young specialist sergeant, who was fulfilling his military service in Ağrı and was returning to his hometown to experience his happiest day, lost his life in an accident while behind the wheel.
MINIVAN AND CAR COLLIDE
According to information obtained, the heart-wrenching accident occurred around 11:30 AM on the Kadirli-Sumbas highway at the Alibeyli location. A minivan with license plate 27 BAU 643, driven by Y.K. (51), and a car with license plate 06 FVC 246, driven by Ali Akçay (23), coming from the opposite direction, collided violently.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE INTERVENTIONS
Due to the force of the collision, both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Upon notification from nearby citizens, fire brigade, gendarmerie, and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. The seriously injured drivers, Y.K. and Ali Akçay, were extracted from the vehicles and, after initial medical intervention at the scene, were urgently taken to nearby hospitals. However, despite all efforts by doctors, the severely injured young driver Ali Akçay lost his life. It was learned that the minivan driver Y.K. is continuing treatment at the hospital.
HIS WEDDING WAS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY
The story of Ali Akçay, who fell victim to the accident at a young age, deepened the pain of the incident. It was learned that Akçay, who served as a specialist sergeant in Ağrı, had come to Osmaniye on leave for wedding preparations. It was reported that the unfortunate young man was preparing to marry his fiancée Özlem Avcı on June 26, and his wedding was only 2 days away.
