In the Efeler district of Aydın, an individual who ignored police orders to stop, disregarded traffic rules by driving on the sidewalk, and caused moments of fear for citizens was caught after a chase. The person, who was found to be underage and unlicensed, and the owner of the motorcycle's license were subjected to approximately 500,000 TL in penalties, while the chase was captured on security cameras.
A 500,000 TL fine was issued to the driver and the license holder of a motorcycle that fled from a police stop warning in the Efeler district of Aydın.
HE FLED FROM THE STOP WARNING
The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on Kızılay Street in Hasan Efendi Neighborhood. According to information obtained, Motorcycle Police Team members, suspicious of the situation of two individuals on an unlicensed motorcycle, issued a 'stop' warning. The individuals on the motorcycle did not comply with the police's 'stop' warning and fled, while the person in the passenger position on the motorcycle got off and ran away.
The driver, who proceeded on the sidewalk with the motorcycle, endangering pedestrians and causing moments of fear, was eventually stopped on Batı Gazi Boulevard after the chase. The person who got off the motorcycle was also caught by the police teams. Identity checks revealed that the individuals were minors and that the motorcycle driver fled because he did not have a driver's license.
A 500,000 TL FINE WAS ISSUED
Investigations by traffic teams determined that the motorcycle's license plate was 09 ATN 657 and it was not attached to the motorcycle. A total of approximately 500,000 TL in penalties under various articles was applied to the driver and the license holder of the motorcycle, which was towed to a parking lot, and the motorcycle was banned from traffic for 3 months. The minors were taken into the police vehicle and brought to the police station to have their statements taken.
THE CHASE INSTANTLY ON CAMERA
The motorcycle rider's escape from the police teams was captured by a workplace's security camera. The footage, recorded instantaneously by the cameras, shows the police teams chasing the motorcycle and the motorcycle driver proceeding on the sidewalk, endangering pedestrian safety. The investigation into the incident continues.
