In Kepez district of Antalya, a young man who was obsessed with a girl and went to the house where she lived, had a nervous breakdown and shot himself when he couldn't find the girl he loved. The hours-long persuasion efforts of the Special Operations police were in vain.
A young man who was obsessed with a girl in Antalya came to the house where the girl lived and got angry when he couldn't find her at home. He scared the police officers in the stairwell of the apartment building with a gun in his hand. Despite the 3-hour persuasion efforts of the Special Operations police, the man shot himself with his gun.
APARTMENT RESIDENTS INFORMED THE POLICE
The incident took place in an apartment building on 3735th Street in Gülveren Neighborhood, Kepez district. According to the information received, police officers were dispatched to the area upon the notification of the apartment residents who saw an armed person wandering in the stairwell of their building.
HE SHOT HIMSELF AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
During the examination conducted by the police officers who arrived at the scene, it was learned that Mehmet Y. (25) came to the house where R.Ç., the girl he was obsessed with, lived and said that he would commit suicide because he couldn't find her at home. Upon this, health, police, Special Operations, and negotiator police officers were dispatched to the scene. Police officers wearing bulletproof vests took extensive security measures around the building and on the roofs. Special Operations and negotiator police officers entered the building and tried to persuade the armed man. In the incident where the persuasion efforts of the ex-girlfriend they called and the negotiator police officers over the phone for about 3 hours were unsuccessful, Mehmet Y. shot himself in the chest with a pistol. Mehmet Y., whose condition was critical, was immediately intervened by the health teams waiting at the scene and was taken to Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Hospital by ambulance.
