Hamza İncebay, who became one of Turkey's top scorers by answering all questions correctly in the 2026 LGS, explained that the secret to his success lies in regular study, solving numerous practice tests, reading books, and using a feature phone instead of a smartphone for a year. İncebay, who aims to become an engineer in the future, stated that he listed Istanbul Erkek High School as his first choice for high school.
14-year-old Hamza Incebay, who became one of Turkey's top scorers by answering all questions correctly in the 2026 High School Transition System (LGS) exam, attributed his success to regular study, solving many practice tests, reading books, and using a feature phone instead of a smartphone for a year.
HE SET HIS GOAL IN 7TH GRADE
Hamza Incebay, who lives in Malatya, stated that he started preparing for the LGS in the 7th grade and gradually increased his study pace in the 8th grade.
Emphasizing that setting goals and disciplined work are the foundation of success, Incebay said, "First, the goal is important. After setting the goal, regular and determined work brings success. I increased my study tempo even more in the last three months and the last month."
HE SOLVED PARAGRAPHS EVERY DAY AND IMPROVED HIS ATTENTION WITH SUDOKU
Incebay, who explained that he solved paragraph questions every day and read plenty of books during the preparation process, said that practice exams greatly contributed to his success.
The successful student, who stated that he solved sudoku to reduce attention errors, said, "Practice tests are very important because they provide practice. It was useful for me to see my attention mistakes. I started solving sudoku and found it very beneficial."
HE USED A FEATURE PHONE FOR A YEAR
Incebay, who said he limited his technology use, mentioned that at the beginning of the 8th grade, he gave up his smartphone and switched to a feature phone.
Stating that he did not use a smartphone for a year, Incebay said, "I also completely gave up watching TV towards the end."
HIS FIRST PREFERENCE IS ISTANBUL ERKEK LISESI
Hamza Incebay stated that he put Istanbul Erkek Lisesi as his first choice in high school preferences, followed by Kabatas Erkek Lisesi and Galatasaray Lisesi.
Incebay, who said he aims to become an engineer in the future, also added that he wants to improve his foreign language skills.

Hamza Incebay's mother, Emine Incebay, expressed pride in her son's success and thanked his teacher. His father, Lütfi Incebay, stated that success comes from the collaboration of student, school, and parents, and said that his son received the reward for his disciplined work.
