In Istanbul, a person got into a scuffle with the police during an identity check. The suspect accidentally shot himself and died while trying to escape. It was determined that the suspect was also the fugitive in the murder of his ex-fiancée.

In Kadikoy, Istanbul, a suspect who was stopped for an identity check got into a scuffle with the police while trying to escape. The suspect accidentally shot himself and died. One police officer was also injured in the incident.



The police teams at Hasanpasa Mahallesi Sogutlucesme Metrobus stop wanted to check the identity of G.Y., whom they suspected. When this person presented the identity belonging to his brother Y.Y. (39), he was attempted to be taken into custody by the police.



Meanwhile, a scuffle broke out between G.Y., who was trying to escape, and the police officers who caught up with him. G.Y., who pulled out a gun from his waist during the scuffle, accidentally fired and injured himself and police officer E.B. (39). G.Y. could not be saved after being taken to the hospital, while the general health condition of police officer E.B. was reported to be good after receiving treatment.



Eyewitness Nihat Ceylan, in his statement to journalists, said that the incident occurred when the police officers wanted to check the identity of G.Y. Ceylan stated that a scuffle broke out between this person and the police officers who tried to catch him when he tried to take out his gun from his waist. He added, 'Later, a gunshot was fired and both the person and the police officer were injured. The person was in critical condition, and the medical team was performing CPR here.'



Gokhan Yildiz had shot his ex-fiancée Bahar Kaban (28) while she was going to work on May 16, Thursday, at around 08:30 on Dereboyu Street in Kucukcekmece Halkali Merkez Mahallesi. After the incident, Gokhan Yildiz fled the scene, while Bahar Kaban, who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital by ambulance but could not be saved despite all interventions. Bahar Kaban was buried in Igdir.
