Our National Team won against Iceland 3-1 in the second match of the UEFA Nations League Group B4. CONTRACT TERMINATED
Everton, the club of Sigurdsson, terminated the contract of the Icelandic football player due to the sexual abuse charge. The 35-year-old player appeared in court and was released claiming insufficient evidence, allowing him to return to football.
REINSTATED TO THE NATIONAL TEAM
After all these incidents, Gylfi Sigurdsson was reinstated to the Iceland National Team squad by the current National Team Head Coach Age Hareide. The experienced player is currently playing for Valur Reykjavik, one of his country's teams.
