He has been taking care of his brother-in-law with Down syndrome, who is his wife's responsibility, for 20 years.

The couple Fedai and Ayten Aktaş started taking care of Ayten Aktaş's brother, Adem Karaoğlu, who has Down syndrome, 24 years ago, along with their 3 children. After Ayten Aktaş passed away 4 years later due to an illness, Fedai Aktaş took care of not only his children but also his brother-in-law. Aktaş, who never left his brother-in-law alone and closely attended to all his needs, has been living alone with Karaoğlu in recent years after his children got married and moved out.

"I CLEAN IN THE MORNING AND FEED HIM"

Aktaş told AA correspondent that he gladly takes care of his brother-in-law and does not separate him from his children. Stating that Adem constantly stays with him, Aktaş said, "I clean in the morning, I feed him, we go out together, we watch television," he expressed.

"I WILL BE BY HIS SIDE UNTIL HE DIES"

Aktaş stated that he never left his brother-in-law alone and, despite having no social life, he is not complaining about it, and he continued:

"He is my late wife's brother. He has been with me for 20 years. I have not hurt him, nor have I been hurt. I have tried to take care of him as much as I can. I pray for my wife's soul, he is entrusted to us from her. He is like my brother or my son, however they accept him. I love him wholeheartedly, I do not differentiate him from my children." Fedai Aktaş emphasized that he has been by his brother-in-law's side for 20 years, saying, "Whatever I eat, he eats too. Whatever I wear, he wears too. I have not hurt him, may God not hurt him either. I will be by his side until he dies," he stated.
