A horrific incident occurred at a hotel in São Luís, in the Brazilian state of Maranhão. Renata Rebeca Negrão Saldanha dos Santos, 26, who had come to the city for a poker tournament her boyfriend was going to take part in, fell from the 7th floor of the hotel where she was staying and lost her life. The death of the young woman, who had two small children, plunged her family and loved ones into mourning.
SHE FELL FROM THE 7TH FLOOR WHEN THE WINDOW FRAME BROKE OFF
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, November 3, at the Rio Poty Hotel in São Luís. According to information obtained from the Maranhão Civil Police, Renata leaned on the aluminum frame of a window in the corridor on the 7th floor of the hotel.
According to initial findings, the aluminum structure broke loose as the young woman tried to sit on the window sill. Losing her balance, Renata fell from a height of several meters onto the awning at the hotel entrance. The young woman died in the incident.
SHE WAS GOING TO RETURN HOME THE SAME DAY
It was stated that the couple had tickets to return to Pará on Tuesday, November 3, the day of the accident. However, the horrific incident that occurred hours before their return journey cost the young woman her life.
HER TWO SMALL CHILDREN WERE LEFT WITHOUT THEIR MOTHER
It was learned that Renata, who was only 26, had two small children, one of them 4 years old. The young woman's unexpected death plunged her family and loved ones into deep sorrow.
According to information reported by the Brazilian press outlet Metrópoles, Renata's body was handed over by the Institute of Forensic Medicine on Tuesday afternoon, the day of the incident. The funeral ceremony was expected to be held in the city of Ananindeua, where the young woman lived.
