Salih Temuçin, who brought the barbering skills he learned in İzmir to his hometown Bayburt, became the champion in the beard style cutting category at the Balkan World Championship in Elazığ. Stating that he had concerns about prejudice but received great interest at the competition he attended with his skullcap and beard, Temuçin said his goal is to pass on his profession to young people.
Salih Temuçin, who learned the barber profession in Izmir and brought it to his hometown Bayburt, became a champion in the beard styling category at the Balkan World Championship held in Elazığ with the participation of 13 countries. Temuçin, who stated that he thought he might encounter prejudice while participating in the competition with his skullcap and beard, said that the interest and hospitality he received eliminated all his concerns.
RETURNED VICTORIOUS FROM A COMPETITION HE ATTENDED WITH CONCERN
Barber Salih Temuçin, representing Bayburt in the competition held in Elazığ, competed in the scissor cut and beard styling categories. Temuçin, who left his rivals behind in beard styling, achieved the championship.
Temuçin, who has been practicing the barber profession he started at age 17 for 20 years, stated that he learned the intricacies of the profession in Izmir, worked in Ankara, and returned to his hometown to pass on his knowledge and experience to the youth in Bayburt.

Temuçin, who stated that barbers in Bayburt are talented, emphasized that his goal is to transfer his professional knowledge to the new generation. Noting that other provinces participate in international competitions with large teams, Temuçin said he aims to take part in world and European championships from Bayburt with a team of 10-15 people.
Emphasizing that he will do his best to ensure his young colleagues trust themselves and succeed, Temuçin said, "God has granted me this art. I also want to pass on what I have learned to my younger brothers. I will do my best for them to love their profession, trust themselves, and be successful."
HE WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE OF HIS SKULLCAP AND BEARD
Temuçin, describing his anxiety about how he would be received while participating in the competition with his skullcap and beard, said the interest and hospitality he experienced at the organization made him happy.
"When I participated in the competition with my skullcap and beard, I thought they would criticize me. But on the contrary, they welcomed me as if I were in my own home. They showed great interest and attention. I was very happy, thank God," said Temuçin, thanking those who contributed to the organization.
