Journalist Fatih Altaylı, who received a 4-year and 2-month prison sentence in the case he is being tried for due to his remarks against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, made statements to T24.

Fatih Altaylı, who expressed his anger towards the business world, said, "There is a clear injustice in my situation, everyone sees it. However, not a single person from the business world has spoken a word about this situation. When I go outside, I will pass through the business world. They say Turkish bourgeoisie, but they are not bourgeois. They are all shopkeepers covered with copper. The real upper class is formed by the remaining majority of society."
"THEY CAN'T ADVERTISE OUT OF FEAR"
Altaylı also stated, "Tayyip Erdoğan has read their souls and treats them as they deserve. Erdoğan is an incredible sociologist and psychologist.

Moreover, look at the channels they advertise on; they all advertise on pro-government channels to please the authorities. As for the opposition channels, they can't advertise out of fear," he expressed.
HE HAD RECEIVED A 4 YEAR 2 MONTH PRISON SENTENCE
In the case he was tried, Altaylı had received a 1-year prison sentence for "threatening the President." The court, evaluating the defendant's action as "another physical attack against the President," increased the sentence to 1 year and 6 months, and then raised it to 5 years on the grounds that the penalty for the act should not be less than 5 years.
The court had reduced the sentence to 4 years and 2 months, considering its impact on the defendant's future.
