Muhammet Topçu (19) and Uğur Kaan (20), who came to Antalya from Kayseri for a holiday, drowned and lost their lives after entering Konyaaltı Beach at night. The cries of Muhammet Topçu's father, who carried his son's coffin to the hearse with his own hands, broke hearts.
SEA PLEASURE ENDED IN DISASTER
In the incident that occurred at around 23:30 last night at Konyaaltı Beach on Akdeniz Boulevard in the Konyaaltı district, 3 friends who came to Antalya from Kayseri for a holiday went to Konyaaltı Beach to spend time in the evening. After chatting for a while, the 3 friends entered the sea to cool off. One of the young men got out of the water shortly after, and then noticed that Muhammet Topçu (19) and Uğur Kaan (20) had disappeared in the water. Thinking that his friends might have come out of the water from a different point, the young man reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center after failing to reach his 2 friends despite all his searches.
LIFELESS BODIES FOUND 25 METERS OFFSHORE
Upon the report, boats and divers from the Antalya Police Department Maritime Port Branch Directorate and the Coast Guard Group Command were dispatched to the area. Police teams on land and divers at sea began efforts to find the 2 young men. As a result of the divers' underwater search, Muhammet Topçu's lifeless body was found 10 meters from the shore, and Uğur Kaan's lifeless body was found approximately 25 meters offshore at a depth of 10 meters. After the prosecutor's office and crime scene investigation teams completed their work, the bodies of the 2 friends, which were removed from the water, were taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death.

Muhammet Topçu's father and Uğur Kaan's relatives, who received the news of their children's death at night, came to the Forensic Medicine Institute. Relatives calmed down Muhammet Topçu's father, who appeared very upset. The grieving father, who loaded the coffin of his son, whom he lost at age 19, onto the hearse with his own hands, collapsed to his knees and burst into tears after a while. The tearful father's words, "Muhammet is gone, you left me, dad, you burned my heart, dad," broke hearts.
