SUPER LEAGUE STARTED WITH A RED CARD

Eyüpspor, coached by Arda Turan, visited Alanyaspor in the first week of the Süper Lig. The sidelines got heated after Alanyaspor scored the equalizer in the 77th minute. Arda Turan, who made his debut as a coach in the Süper Lig, showed a very strong reaction to the referee of the match. The young coach sent his players to the sidelines for substitutions before the goal of the Mediterranean team, but the substitutions did not happen. Turan, who was annoyed by the delay in substitutions, went crazy after the goal. The referee of the match punished Arda Turan with a red card. The 37-year-old coach started his first coaching experience in the Süper Lig with a red card.

ARDA TURAN'S STATEMENT

Arda Turan, the coach of Eyüpspor, who received a red card in his first match in the Süper Lig, made the following statement about the incident;

"First of all, I would like to thank the people of Alanya and Alanyaspor for their hospitality. It was great to meet my dear brother Fatih Tekke in the first match of the season. I congratulate both Alanyaspor players and my own players for their efforts in this heat.

"IT WAS A COACHING LESSON FOR ME"

We knew that Alanyaspor wanted to have possession of the ball. We tried to repel it with our high press and we were successful at times, but after the middle of the first half, they broke our press and created chances, played well. We responded to their pressure by deepening our game. In the second half, we chose to wait. This was a new coaching lesson for me. We tried to play behind the ball and defend as a block. I think we presented a match in which we developed ourselves and entertained the viewers.

Since the beginning of the season, like all other teams, we have been working in very hot weather and at a high pace to prepare for the season. As a coach who made his debut in the Süper Lig and, most importantly, sacrificed one of his players to a long-term injury during the match, I will speak to beautify and improve every aspect of football.

"REFEREES SHOULD HAVE A MORE HUMANE APPROACH TOWARDS US"

My humble advice to our referee friends is to have better communication. Football is a sport of entertainment. Their approach towards us should be more humane. I was expelled just because I left my technical area, without any insults. Our referees said they will apply this to everyone and everywhere. I have complete trust in the Turkish Football Federation, its committees, and our referee friends who set out with the motto of 'Justice'.

It is promising for us to earn points in our first match in the Trendyol Süper Lig, but we will never be a team that accepts a draw in any part of our lives. Therefore, I congratulate my players who have put in great effort.

I am very sorry for the long-term loss of Recep Niyaz. I believe that he will recover and return to us as soon as possible. He was one of the most special players who made our dreams come true. We are here for his best possible return."
