In Antalya, 18-year-old Muhammed D. attacked his two sisters, saying 'The devil entered me.' The suspect, who tried to kill them by strangling their throats, was subdued by police intervention. One of the seriously injured sisters was intubated, while Muhammed D. stated in his testimony that he would have killed his sisters 'to exorcise the devil' if the police hadn't arrived. The suspect was arrested on charges of 'attempted intentional murder'.
The incident in the Santral neighborhood of Antalya's Kepez district horrified everyone.
According to claims, 18-year-old Muhammed D. attacked his 22-year-old sister Kübra D., saying, "A demon entered her."
SENT A HELP MESSAGE
Kübra D., who managed to escape from her brother, sent a message to her 29-year-old sister Meryem D. asking for help via her cell phone. However, Muhammed D. caught his sister again inside the house and strangled her, leaving her motionless.
When Meryem D. arrived home after receiving the help message, she saw her sister motionless on the floor and called the 112 Emergency Call Center for help. At that moment, Muhammed D. also attacked Meryem D. and tried to strangle her.
POLICE INTERVENED
After the attack, Muhammed D. went out to the balcony and shouted for a while. While his sister Meryem D. tried to calm him down, she was subjected to a punch attack. Then Muhammed D. strangled his sister again.
Taking advantage of the open door, police teams entered the apartment, neutralized Muhammed D., and took him into custody.
ONE SISTER WAS INTUBATED
Kübra D., who was seriously injured in the attack, was taken to Akdeniz University Hospital and intubated. Meryem D. was treated at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.
"I WAS GOING TO KILL TO EXORCISE THE DEMON"
In his statement to the police, Muhammed D. claimed that he thought a demon had entered his sisters, saying, "I squeezed Kübra's neck to exorcise the demons. I attacked my other sister Meryem, who came home, in the same way." Muhammed D. said that if the police had not arrived, he would have killed his sisters "to exorcise the demon."
ARRESTED
After the procedures at the police station, Muhammed D. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the duty judge on charges of "attempted murder" and sent to prison.
