Emre Cem Karadaş, who stole a cell phone from a restaurant by using the pretext of using the restroom, stole a portable ladder from a mosque, and was identified as being involved in two additional thefts in Adana, was caught and arrested after being identified through security cameras.
Emre Cem Karadaş (34), who stole a cell phone from a restaurant's cash register and a portable ladder from a mosque's mortuary room under the pretext of using the toilet, was identified through security cameras and caught. The suspect, determined to have been involved in 2 other thefts, was arrested.
The incident occurred on June 18 at around 09:00 on Mustafa Kemal Paşa Boulevard in Yüreğir district. Emre Cem Karadaş, who was out cycling, stopped in front of a restaurant and entered the premises under the pretense of using the toilet. After washing his hands, the suspect exited, checked the surroundings, stole the cell phone from the cash register, and fled. On June 20, using the same pretext, he stole the portable ladder from the mortuary room of Serinevler Mosque. The theft moments were captured on security cameras.
INVOLVED IN 2 MORE THEFTS
Upon complaints from the restaurant owner and the mosque's imam, teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Theft Bureau initiated an investigation, examining security cameras in the area and along the route. It was understood that the identified suspect had also stolen a car audio system and screwdriver set from a vehicle, and a panel saw from a construction shack in recent dates. Police, who determined the suspect had last gone to Kocavezir neighborhood in Seyhan district, caught Karadaş while he was cycling.
ARRESTED
The suspect, taken to the police station, was found to have multiple records for 'Drug use' and 'Theft' offenses. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the thefts. After processing, Emre Can Karadaş was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court.
